Kayla Gold, Vocals

Kayla Gold holds a B.A. in music from the University of California at Davis where she studied composition, conducting and music education.  Locally, Ms. Gold has been vocal director for productions by Theater Artists of Marin, Novato Community Players, and the Ross Valley Players. Though operatically trained, Kayla has a passion for and extensive experience performing songs from musical theater and the American songbook. She created and performed original one-woman cabaret shows at venues in Marin and San Francisco. Having a special fondness for comedy, Kayla created numerous comedic characters in musical reveus, received stellar reviews for her performance as Sister Mary Amnesia in the long-running Nunsense. Ms. Gold was also one-half of the Victor Borge-esque music comedy duo of “McQuilkin and Goldberg” which performed from 1999 until 2007 and was featured on local TV stations.
A published songwriter, Ms. Gold co-wrote “Trailer Trash: The Musical,” a country-rock musical that played to sold-out houses in Sebastopol, California and at San Anselmo’s Playhouse. Learn more at www.kaylagold.com.
