For incoming students who want to be immediately placed in advanced classes (Wind Ensemble, Advanced Performance Workshop), you will be asked to audition, using one of the documents below. Rehearsals and Performances Missed rehearsals and performances CANNOT be made up! See Mr. Mattern if you have any conflicts with scheduled performances.
Concert Attire CONCERT BAND/SYMPHONIC BAND: Required concert attire for Concert and Symphonic band is typically all black. For men, this means a black long-sleeved button-up collared shirt, a coordinating tie, black suit or black dress pants, black socks and black dress shoes (no athletic shoes). For women, concert attire is a black dress or dressy black skirt, at least knee length or below, an appropriate black top (no see-through blouses, strapless tops or spaghetti straps), appropriate hose and black shoes. Women may also wear pants, following the guidelines set out for the men.
JAZZ BAND: Performance attire is typically all black and similar to Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Band description above.
PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP: Required concert attire (can also change TBA for different gigs) is a dressy semi-formal to formal mixed colors look. For men, this means dress pants, polo shirt or dress shirt (shirts tucked in), black socks and black dress shoes. Women may wear pants, following the guidelines set out for the men, a dress, or top and dressy skirt, at least knee length or below, with appropriate hose and nice dress shoes. NO jeans, athletic shoes, shorts, baggy sweats, etc...and please don't come looking like you're skateboarding.
